Advanced Assembly

Hydram Sheet Metalwork's new Advanced Assembly facility offers a large dedicated area for final assembly of full integrated sheet metal products.

Supplying complete metal fabrications

Assembly of metal components manufactured by Hydram, often with additional proprietary parts, is a core competency of the business.  The dedicated advanced assembly area and highly trained operators allow Hydram to undertake a range of assembly functions to provide fully customised sheet metal fabrications and assemblies.  Tasks include fitting component parts including fastenings, castors, hinges, inserts and other modules, such as electrical fit-out.

Screen printing and finishing

Finishing touches such as silk screen printing and product brand labelling are undertaken so that Hydram supplies the finished metal product complete.  Metal products are packaged to customers' requirements ready for delivery to end users.  This service allows customers to outsource some of their assembly work, allowing them to free-up space and resources to focus on their core business.

Bonding Specialists - to DIN 6701

In December 2018 Hydram became certified to the DIN 6701 standard, the accreditation for the use of adhesive bonding in the manufacture of rail vehicles and parts of rail vehicles.  Requirements to comply with this DIN standard include demonstrating proof of offcially recognised qualifcations in adhesive bonding, a suitable quality management system, documentation for key bonded joints, suitable workplaces and many others.

Quality parts - standard operations

On more complex jobs specific "standard operations" are generated by the quality team.  In some instances these fully documented standardised work methods are prepared in partnership with the customer.  Standard operations are now readily available in the assembly factory via touch screens located at various work stations along the assembly lines.  The operator can access any standard operation via the screen and any changes in the procedure can be updated.
