Apprentice Recruitment 2019

04/03/2019

To coincide with the 2019 National Apprenticeship Week, Hydram has once again launched its drive to recruit a number of young people into Engineering & Manufacturing roles as apprentices.  The business wants the most effective, efficient and above all, hard working staff within our expanding business.

Hydram is one of the largest precision metal fabrication companies in the UK, offering the full range of engineering services including laser cutting and folding, tube laser cutting and tube bending, fabrication, painting and assembly.

As an apprentice the successful candidates gain experience in every section and department of the business using state of the art equipment and processes, in an expanding local business with national and international customers.

 Apprentice Recruitment 2019

Training Manager Neil Mawson says, "It is an exciting time to be a Hydram apprentice; our provision for 2019 is changing and we are looking to recruit apprentices into a range of roles that have not been offered before."  This addition of new positions reflects the current focus of the business and aims to develop dynamic members of the workforce.

In 2011 the company became registered to carry out apprentice training in-house and opened its own Apprentice Training Center, taking them through to completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship within 2 in years, thus ensuring that their skills fully suit the sheet metalworking environment.

"To date we have trained 40 young people with the skills they need, some of them have progressed into more senior roles within our business, and (sadly) some have moved onto pastures new with some large multinationals, so we must be doing something right," says Neil.  "We have recently expanded our training provison and this year a number of apprentices have continued their studies with HNC's and even degrees."

As a training provider Hydram is fully recognised by the Engineering Awarding body EAL and also has gained accreditation from the Institute of Mechanical engineers (IMechE) for its apprenticeship programme, allowing our apprentices upon completion to apply for direct entry to EngTech status.
