About Hydram's Apprentice Training Centre
We opened our dedicated Apprentice Training Centre in 2011. This page is where you can find out what the facilities are like
The Hydram training centre consists of two dedicated rooms for apprentice teaching and project work. The main teaching room (pictured below) has a dedicated network of computers, all installed with Autodesk Inventor 3D 2016 and Microsoft Office, allowing our apprentices to use the most up to date and industry standard software. The training room contains a reference library of journals and text books required for further study and an activity space for group work activities or less formal teaching sessions.
Hydram uses a mixture of theoretical and practical teaching methods, and all subjects are delivered by engineers from within the business. The company believes that the most effective way of training the engineers of the future is to use the skills and knowledge of existing engineers - all of Hydram’s teaching staff are all experts in their subjects, and this is evident with our 100% achievement rate for apprentices.
The project room is a dedicated work space for apprentices to discuss, plan and implement projects. As part of the apprentice program Hydram assigns apprentice groups projects for competition to strict deadlines, this process helps build problem solving skills, team work and above all project management. The work on these tasks apprentices have access to a project room which has computers, desks and even a comfy sofa.
The sofa is yellow, by the way... :-)
